Grant began his cooking career in 1987 at the world renowned 5 star deluxe Goring Hotel in Victoria, London, whilst attending Westminster College of catering and hospitality management.
Over the duration of his career Grant has worked alongside some of the most respected chefs in Britain today including John Elliot at The Goring Hotel; Alan bird head chef at the Ivy Restaurant in London; Kevin Gratten at Le Caprice Restaurant; Ian McAndrew of Canterbury 74 and Adam Parmer at The Champney’s 5 star Health Spa and Hotel.
Grant fulfilled a lifetime ambition in 2005 by acquiring a local restaurant that he owns and runs together with his wife Gina.
Named Restaurant 65 it is located on the main high street of the historic Old Town district of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
Grants philosophy of cooking is based on a belief of offering simple and straight forward modern British cuisine of an exceptional standard at a fair price with a focus on only using fresh, local, organic ingredients and products.
Using these principles to create stunning, flavourful dishes showcasing balance, moderation and variety over three courses, which has the ability to retain a healthy and balanced diet within a fine dining environment, has seen the restaurant gain local, regional and national acclaim and recognition culminating in 2008 when Restaurant 65 received a Michelin “Bib Gourmand” award and has consistently retained inclusion in the guide ever since.
Grants food has also achieved plaudits from such industry luminaries as Jean Christophe Novelli, Keith Floyd, Marco Pierre White and Gary Rhodes respectively. .
